Changing the Paradigm: New Concepts for Tactical Spectrum Monitoring
April 18 | 2 PM

Spectrum Managers must adapt to a paradigm shift in the tactical electromagnetic environment, plus cope with personnel shortages and a vast operational theatre. New technologies and innovations in SDR sensor deployment methods can assist spectrum managers in becoming more like an orchestra conductor, controlling multiple sensor systems, vice just being a "one man/woman band" with just a single handheld. In the webinar, let's explore novel deployment methods for spectrum managers such as man-portable, vehicle-based and even UAVs equipped with SDR sensors. Mr. George will be covering how spectrum managers can deploy squad-based, multi-platform systems forward to protect the spectrum around Forward Operating Bases, airfields and more.

Navigating the New Frontiers of EW

In this episode of From the Crow’s Nest, host Ken Miller talks to Brian “Hinks” Hinkley, a retired Navy Captain and President of the Association of Old Crows.

The two talk about how far the world of EW has changed in recent years, including evidence that people are understanding how critical EW and EMSO is in combat situations around the world. Brian tells Ken that America faces a variety of EW-related challenges – from the threat of rogue nations and non-state actors gaining access to EW technology to a dated acquisition procurement system. The two also discuss the current state of recruitment and training, and what AOC and others can do to help develop highly-trained personnel.
