During this 1-hour webinar, we will begin with an overview of the DRFM (Digital RF Memory) architecture and functionality performed and work through several examples of practical DRFM technology concepts including photonics and superconductivity. We will explore design constructs that allow the mathematical models to be realized that enable managing the Electromagnetic Spectrum (EMS) from several band-vantage points.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Phillip Pace is a professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School. He received the B.S. and M.S. degrees from the Ohio University in 1983 and 1986 respectively, and the Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati in 1990, all in electrical and computer engineering.

Over the past few years mature, offensive EW activity in Europe has demonstrated that in the electromagnetic domain, warfare is no longer theoretical. The AOC’s 24th European event will consider the future of EW and EM Operations in the changing light of current and emerging threats, including Hybrid Warfare, Information Operations/Warfare, the multi-domain battle (MDB), Cyber and Anti-Access/Area Denial (A2/AD) where some potential opponents are excelling. 

 

The National AOC and Mugu Crows Chapter of the AOC, under a co-sponsorship agreement with 
NAWCWD, will hold the 48th Collaborative Electronic Warfare Symposium at Naval Base Ventura County Pt. Mugu Station Theater, CA. Day One will be classified US Secret Only. Day Two and Day Three sessions will be classified SECRET releasable to Australia.

Each year, the membership of the AOC determines the future of this organization by electing representatives to the Board of Directors. Nominations will be accepted from January 2 to March 15, and elections will be held June 1 - 30. Current AOC members can be nominated for the following positions:

- At Large Director (2)
- Regional Director (International Region 1 & Pacific Region)

Germany’s Ministry of Defence has officially ruled out the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter as a choice to replace its aging Tornado fleet, Defense News has learned. An official from the ministry confirmed that the F-35 is not a finalist in the competition, which seeks a replacement for the 90-jet fleet. The news was first reported by German site AugenGeradeaus. The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter fleet still does not have an adequate aircraft availability rate, according to the Defense Department's testing office. The fifth-generation fighter has had a "flat" trend in capacity rates over the past three years, according to a recent Director of Operational, Test and Evaluation report. (Militay.com)

  

Lockheed Martin is committed to producing the F-35A Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter for $80 million each by next year and further reducing the overall program costs as part of the next production contract negotiations with the Department of Defense, the company said on Tuesday. (USNI News)
