CALL FOR PAPERS: "Victory Through the Electro-Magnetic Spectrum," the AOC 48th International Symposium and Convention
The AOC's annual symposium and convention, "Victory Through the Electro-Magnetic Spectrum," will take place November 13-16 in Washington, DC. The AOC is seeking original, unclassified and classified papers that discuss advancements in EW technologies and strategies from their conceptual phase through development and testing, into the user’s hands. Submissions are due June 1.

INDUSTRY NEWS: Air Force’s Future Laser Will Fry Enemy Sensors
The Air Force is tight-lipped about this one so far. But it’s seeking a new laser that can fry anything an adversary might use to track its planes. As air defense goes, the fact that Moammar Gadhafi hasn’t been able to launch any anti-aircraft missiles at US or allied planes goes to show that the Air Force and Navy have a pretty good bead on the electronic signals emitted by enemy sensors. Elbit Systems' Brazilian Subsidiary, AEL Sistemas, and Embraer Sign Strategic Agreement Focusing on the UAS Market
Elbit Systems Ltd. (NASDAQ and TASE: ESLT) ("Elbit Systems") announced today that its Brazilian subsidiary, AEL Sistemas S.A ("AEL") signed a strategic agreement with Embraer Defesa e Seguranca S.A., a subsidiary of Embraer S.A (NYSE: ERJ; BM&FBOVESPA: BR3) ("Embraer"), during the Latin American Aerospace & Defense (LAAD) Exhibition 2011.

CONTRACT NEWS
Kilgore Flares Co., LLC, Toone, TN, was awarded on April 8 a $7,532,668 firm fixed-price contract for 61,200 M206 decoy countermeasure flares, and 99,360 MJU-7A/B infrared countermeasure flares. Work will be performed at Toone, Tenn., with an estimated completion date of April 30, 2013.

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp., Bethpage, NY, is being awarded a $6,596,601 modification to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price delivery order issued against basic order agreement (N00019-10-G-0004) to exercise an option to provide spare consumables and spare repairables for the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye Low Rate Initial Production Lot 2 as well as the Hawkeye Integrated Training System Trainers.

Dynetics, Incorporated of Huntsville, AL., Georgia Tech Applied Research Institute of Atlanta, GA and MilTec Corporation of Huntsville, AL, are being awarded a $45 million indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract for firm, fixed-priced hardware, software, and design, and a cost reimbursable line item for travel and a Not Separately Priced Line item for data. This effort provides C4I & munitions test improvement.

Science Applications International Corporation, McLean, VA, was awarded a $279,294,136 cost-plus-fixed-fee contract April 12, 2011. The award will provide for the airborne intelligence and surveillance and reconnaissance services for the US Army Engineer Research and Development Center, Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory.
