You are invited to submit an article to the editors of the IO Journal so that it may be considered for publication in the upcoming issue. The submission deadline for the next issue is August 1, 2011 for publication in the fall (third quarter) 2011 edition.

The IO journal/magazine is a quarterly peer-reviewed publication addressing the ethical, legal and technical IO issues, developments and efforts by the defense industry, government and academia at all levels, from tactical to global.

Each manuscript must be accompanied by a statement that it has not been published elsewhere and that it has not been submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher. All accepted manuscripts, artwork and photographs become the property of the publisher.

Peer Review of Articles

We strive to obtain three independent peer reviews for every research paper submitted to the AOC IO journal. This process averages three months. If the manuscript is deemed to be inappropriate for the IO Journal, or not ready for peer review, you will be notified within one to two weeks.

If your manuscript is placed in the peer review process, you will be notified via e-mail when the editor-in-chief has made a decision regarding your paper. You will receive one of the following decisions:

- Accepted for publication
- Accepted with minor revision
- Declined for publication – please resubmit

Please check at this time to ensure that your contact information is correct. You will be e-mailed galley proofs prior to publication, which require a quick turnaround.

This is a general outline of the review process; timelines and procedures can vary from manuscript to manuscript depending on special circumstances. The entire process from submission to publication averages three to six months.

Authors can check on the status of their manuscripts at any time by contacting Norm Balchunas at (703) 549-1600 or at Balchunas@crows.org
