FiestaCrow 2011 a Success for Billy Mitchell Chapter

The Billy Mitchell Chapter (BMC) continued its 32-year tradition of hosting the Mountain-Western Region Technical Symposium with FiestaCrow 2011 (FC11).

This year’s theme was "EW & IO in a Cyber World," and attracted attendees from around the world.  FC11 proceeds help maintain the chapter and scholarship program. This year’s golf tournament (sponsored by URS) made more than $6,000 for the BMC’s scholarship program.

FiestaCrow is held in conjunction with the City of San Antonio’s annual Fiesta, and one of the highlights is the Fiesta River Parade where Ron Poland, BMC Vice President and former National AOC Board Member, was crowned El Cuervo Viejo XIV.  El Cuervo Viejo (The Old Crow) is an honorary title bestowed by the symposium upon an AOC member nominated by his/her peers as one who best personifies the spirit of the international "Old Crows." He and his wife Suzie were the guests of honor on the BMC’s River Parade float (pictured below).
