NEW AOC VIRTUAL SERIES: Developing Cost Effective Simulation Solutions for Electronic Warfare Systems

August 7, 2014 | 2:00-3:00 p.m. EDT (1800-1900 GMT)

There are many aspects and steps involved in the evaluation of electronic warfare (EW) systems. In addition to the creation of signals that accurately represent multiple threat and non-threat emitters, there are several issues to consider when constructing a complete simulation solution. These include up and down conversion, playback of long duration scenarios and multiple channel capability among many other different elements. And once we have the pieces of the solution in place we face the challenges of system alignment and calibration as well as development of specialized generation and analysis capabilities. This webinar discusses the elements and construction of an effective EW solution that will not exhaust an entire equipment budget. It will demonstrate the utility of such a solution for testing the various types of EW receivers. Additionally, it will explore the technical considerations of emitter simulation and the different use cases and equipment employed to fully characterize system performance and alternatives to the various issues that will be encountered, along with their advantages and disadvantages.
