Harmonizing EW Databases Key Concept at Worldwide EW Reprogramming Conference, December 15-16
Register for the Worldwide EW Reprogramming Conference The AOC's July 2010 "Operationalizing Intelligence for Electronic Warfare in the 21st Century" conference hosted at the National Air and Space Intelligence Center on Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, highlighted several key focus areas to better achieve the objective of better integration of intelligence and electronic warfare. One of the three emergent conference themes was data, specifically EW system mission data. With the maturing of the 21st Century information age, there is an explosive expansion of EW systems' use of the entirety of the EMS. The omnipotent nature and operational performance of these systems are functionally dependent on accurate, timely and comprehensive intelligence-based mission data. To meet this demand, the operations, acquisition and intelligence communities must come together working across the full range of Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations. An immediate issue are EW databases and the multiple reprogramming languages now required. A long-standing EW shortfall, harmonizing databases, is a growing challenge in all fields. To address the heightened interest in this topic, the AOC is conducting a Worldwide EW reprogramming conference in Orlando, FL December 15-16, 2010. The conference will bring together intelligence, acquisitions, operations and maintenance presenters from both government and industry to promote a shared understanding through interactive discussions of their perspectives and roles, their data needs and access, and the systems that use EMS systems mission data. They will interact in an open forum which will allow the attendees to lay a foundation for the development and documentation of a 21st Century EMS systems mission data process and to begin the development and administration of an EMS Systems Mission Data Consortium. The World Wide EW Reprogramming Conference, classified SECRET/NOFORN, will take place December 15-16 at Shades of Green on Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, FL.
