March 16: Capitol Club 2nd Annual Professional Development ProgramBased on the overwhelming responses we received from last year, the AOC Capitol Club will host our 2nd Annual Professional Development Program for our membership on 16 March 2010. This year's program will feature presentations designed to make our members more competitive in the job market, featuring workshops on crafting competitive resumes, what qualities and characteristics companies are looking for during interviews and interactions, and seminars and discussions that will prepare our members for their transitions to new companies or, for those leaving the military, what they can expect during their transitions to industry. Capitol Club members providing presentations at this year's program include George Steeg from Proposal Crafters, Harvey Dahljelm from ITT, and Chopper Lamb from General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems.The program this year will be hosted at the General Dynamics AIS Jefferson Plaza 2 facility in Crystal City (one block from the Metro – maps will be provided to those signing up). The planned start time is 9:00 a.m. and will run until approximately 2:30 p.m. The same as last year, the only cost to our members is approximately $15 for lunch and snacks. You will need to sign up for this activity by 12 March so we can provide the attendees names to the building's DOD guards in advance and order lunches.
