March 21-25: Dixie Crow Symposium 35

Sunday, March 21, 2010, will signal the start of the 35th Annual  Dixie Crow Electronic Warfare Symposium held at the Museum of Aviation, Robins AFB, Georgia. The symposium is co-sponsored by Warner Robins Air Logistics Center's 542nd Combat Sustainment Group and the Dixie Crow Chapter of the Association of Old Crows. This year's theme, "Moving EW Technology to the Forefront," will focus on  requirements, intelligence, analyses and program status reviews from throughout the Electronic Warfare community.

Registration begins Sunday, March 21 at the Ramada Inn on Watson Boulevard from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Registrations for the event are free for both government and contractor personnel; however there is a $25 late fee for registration after March 6, 2010. Activities begin Monday morning, March 22, with a golf tournament held at the Landings Golf Course, located in Statham's Landing  just south of Robins AFB on Old Hawkinsville Road. The tournament will have a scramble format with two separate tee times at 8:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Cost for the golf tournament is $50 per player. Immediately following the afternoon round of golf the Sports Banquet will be held at the Landings Clubhouse with the presentation of the golf tournament prizes.

The symposium's technical program will begin Tuesday morning, March 23, at the Museum of Aviation's Eagle Building, with the Plenary Sessions scheduled for 8:00 a.m. Guests will be welcomed by Col Tim Freeman, 330th ASW/CC, Warner Robins Air Logistics Center.

Col Freeman will also assist with presentation of our annual awards dispersed in a variety of categories to recognize individuals and teams for their outstanding contributions to the field of Electronic Warfare and Warner Robins Air Logistics Center. Our keynote speaker for this year's event will be Brig Gen Bruce Litchfield, Commander, 76th Maintenance Wing, Oklahoma City Air Logistics Center, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma.

The exhibit hall, Century of Flight building, will open promptly at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday and will feature 48 exhibitors with over 72 individual booths showcasing high technology accomplishments and capabilities of the various exhibitors. The exhibit hall will be open until 7:00 p.m. in the evening with a special Exhibitor Reception being hosted beginning at 5:00 p.m. The exhibits will also be open on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m.

The technical sessions will be held from 1:00 p.m. till 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 23 and will continue from 8:00 a.m. till 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 24. Following the theme, "Moving EW Technology to the Forefront," we've compiled an excellent venue of technical presentations to be delivered this year. The following companies/organizations have volunteered to be represented: 312th Aeronautical Systems Wing, ASC/CC, 542nd CBSG, 563rd FTS, GTRI, TERMA A/S, MERC, BAE Systems, 579 SMXS/FLT B, MSIC, Royal Canadian Air Force, USSTRATCOM/JIOWC, 39th Information Operations Squadron, dB Control, Meggitt, HAF/A5RE, 562nd CBSS, SRC, Teledyne and the ANG. We will also have the MSIC IR Van on hand with tours on Tuesday afternoon and continuing through Wednesday morning.

The symposium will also provide training classes on Thursday, March 25. Thursday is made up of the EW and Management short courses based on schedules of participating speakers. This year there will be four technical courses and two management courses. Speakers from Georgia Technical Research Center; Mercer School of Engineering; Fort Valley State College; Georgia College & State University; Georgia Military College; Middle Georgia Technical College; and Defense Acquisition University have been invited.

Wednesday will be capped off with the Annual Banquet held in Hangar One, Museum of Aviation, beginning at 6:30 p.m. honoring our numerous awards recipients and our newly elected Board of Directors. We're honored to have Dr. Schoenfeld as our scheduled speaker for the evening's festivities.
