October 22: Classified Session at AOC Convention: A Day Without Spectrum

Print Print this article

As highlighted by the Convention's theme, "Modernizing Electronic Warfare: Balancing Cost and Capability," the Department of Defense is increasingly dependent on access to and use of the electro-magnetic spectrum (EMS). The EMS is a critical maneuver space for the joint commanders to conduct their operations. Nowhere is the discussion of balancing cost versus capability more significant then assuring our warfighters' mission success and safety across the EMS. This session will educate government and industry participants on the major findings of the recently completed JCS-directed EW Functional Solutions Analysis (FSA) and describe the DOD efforts to mitigate gaps and formulate strategies for continued control of the EMS.

The session will consist of a "Senior Panel" as well as the "Council of Colonels representing the key stakeholders in EMS Operations, Management, and Warfare across the DOD today. The service-level briefs will also be of special interest to an audience dedicated to providing viable EW capabilities to our fighting forces.
