AOC Releases 2010 Policy Agenda
This week, the AOC released its 2010 Policy Agenda, which identifies the policies and legislation that will guide the AOC advocacy program. Specifically, the AOC urges the Department of Defense, Congress, and related federal agencies to organize, train and equip warfighters by (1) ensuring the national spectrum inventory and reallocation policy reflects military requirements for EMS operations management and control; (2) investing in next generation joint electronic warfare capabilities; (3) establishing a comprehensive EW strategy; and (4) maintaining the electronic warfare industrial base. Based on the overwhelming responses we received from last year, the AOC Capitol Club will host our 2nd Annual Professional Development Program for our membership on March 16, 2010.

The Israeli Chapter(IAOC) annual conference takes place March 18. The conference includes three classified sessions and will focus on EW and IW in the future symmetric and asymmetric war; the new challenges in EW in the air, naval and ground forces and information warfare - new approaches and technologies. The conference is honored by the Israeli EW Forces and sponsored by Elta, Rafael and Elisra.

Sunday, March 21, 2010, will signal the start of the 35th Annual Dixie Crow Electronic Warfare Symposium held at the Museum of Aviation, Robins AFB, GA. This year's theme, "Moving EW Technology to the Forefront," will focus on requirements, intelligence, analyses and program status reviews from throughout the Electronic Warfare community.

The second annual AOC Capitol Club and Naval Research Laboratory co-sponsored Government/Industry Technical Interchange is scheduled for April 27 at the NRL. This year's event will bring together EW community members who are developing concepts and technologies for surface and airborne decoys and their application as countermeasures.

In Berlin, Germany, the global event for EW – held in collaboration with the AOC and strongly supported by European and international industry.

Yesterday, Northrop Grumman NOC announced that it would not submit a bid for the $35 billion KC-X, the aerial refueling tanker program. With EADS not willing to make a solo bid, and Northrop deciding not to protest, Boeing BA is primed to capture the entire award unopposed. (Toronto Star)

It took the United States less than three years after the 9/11 attacks to get its National Counter Terrorism Center (NCTC) up and away. From our first major internationally organized terror attack in Mumbai in March 1993, it took us 17 years to think of setting up a similar center. (HardNews)

The AOC is soliciting papers for the 47th International Symposium and Convention, October 3-7, 2010, in Atlanta, GA, the theme of which is, "Electronic Warfare in a Changing Environment." Papers are due by May 31, 2010.
