Registration and housing are open now for the 11th Annual AOC Space Protection Conference at Kirtland AFB, NM.

Held in conjunction with AFRL, the Passive Covert Radar Conference, September 15-17 in Syracuse, NY, will feature three days of selected papers for presentation. The first two days will be unclassified and the third day will be open to participants of the US, UK, Australia and Canada holding a current Secret security clearance.

The AOC is calling for presenters for the conference at the Naval Post Graduate School in Monterey, CA.

Eight warrant officers graduated July 17, from a 16-week Electronic Warfare Technician Course at Fort Sill and several will serve as the Army's first EW warrants in Iraq. (Army.mil)

The U.S. Senate voted to end production of Lockheed Martin Corp.'s F-22 fighter jets at the 187 now on order after President Barack Obama threatened to veto any measure containing money to build more. (Bloomberg)

Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates today announced plans to add up to 22,000 soldiers to the U.S. Army's ranks. The plus-up of active duty troops will take the Army from 547,000 to 569,000 forces in what Gates characterized as a temporary increase of the Army's "end strength" for three fiscal years. Apollo was the ultimate strategic gesture of the Cold War. Few people were fooled by the plaque NASA put on the leg of the lunar lander that read: "We came in peace for all mankind." (Forbes)
