NEXT WEEK: AOC Capitol Club 3rd Annual Professional Development Program

Based on the overwhelming responses we received from our previous two years, the AOC Capitol Club will host our 3rd Annual Professional Development Program on April 13. Our goal is to prepare AOC military members for transition and non-military members for changing positions/companies by providing presentations and seminars designed to make our members more competitive in job hunting.

Highlights include how to "demilitarize" and build killer résumés, importance of networking, using digital social networks, recruiter’s pros/cons, interview preparation and techniques, what qualities and characteristics companies are looking for during interviews and interactions, wardrobe, salary negotiating, etc.

Capitol Club members providing presentations at this year’s program include George Steeg from Proposal Crafters, Margaret Burke from Dahl Morrow International Executive Search Firm, Chopper Lamb from Science Applications International Corporation, and Harvey Dahljelm, recently retired VP from ITT.

The program this year will be hosted at AOC National Headquarters in Alexandria, 1000 North Payne Street (one block from the Braddock Road Metro Station - Blue/Yellow). Our start time is 9 a.m. and will run until approximately 3 p.m. As in previous years, the only cost to our members is $15 to cover lunch, snacks and handouts.

You will need to sign up for this activity by April 11 so we can order lunches and ensure we have enough materials for participants. For more information, please contact George Steeg at gfsteeg@proposalcrafter.com or Chopper at douglas.g.lamb@saic.com.
